The exhibition space within Cupar Museum and Heritage Centre tells the story of the Burgh of Cupar, former seat of justice and County Town of Fife.
Topics relating to Cupar that are being commemorated through displays in 2018 include the exhibition “Work and War Horses, 1914 to 1918”. This exhibition commissioned by the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland is presented at Cupar Museum and Heritage Centre as we commemorate a different aspect the Centenary of World War One. The changing role of the horse in Scotland since the beginning of the twentieth century and specifically during the First World War is explained, with its impact on the Scottish horse population and how the role of the working horse in Scotland was to change forever.
The exhibition is illustrated, with stories that will appeal to horse lovers, those interested in military history and the changing face of rural Scotland.
