The Platform building was converted into artists’ studios in 2012 by Fife Historic Buildings Trust. Previously derelict, it originally housed the station waiting rooms, and has been sympathetically restored into creative spaces for Sally Grant, Grace Girvan (jewellers); Susie Redman (weaver), Gingerbread Designs (textiles; ceramics); and Sophie McKay Knight, Lara Scouller(fine art).
The Edwardian building sits on the Burntisland dockside facing south towards Edinburgh and the Pentland Hills, providing the studios with an inspiring coastal environment for those who work there and all who visit.
